Freemasonry under the United Grand Lodge of England is the U.K's largest secular, fraternal and charitable organisation. It has over 300,000 members working in nearly 8,000 lodges throughout England and Wales and 30,000 more members overseas.

Freemasonry in Scarborough is represented by five Craft Lodges, two Chapters of the Holy Royal Arch, a Mark Degree and several other degrees under the jurisdiction of the Province of the North and East Ridings of Yorkshire.
